About TCR
Founded in 2026, Tyler Craig Racing (TCR) was built on a passion for helping drivers grow both on and off the track. What started with coaching Andrew and Chelsea Ogilvie, and later Angus Oke, quickly became something bigger. Seeing those drivers improve and gain confidence reignited Tyler's love for motorsport and sparked a new passion for driver development.
Alongside coaching, Tyler continues to pursue his own racing goals in the Hyundai Excel category. As TCR grew, so did its reach within the karting community. By Round 3 of the Festival State Cup, South Australia's state karting championship, Tyler was regularly assisting former competitors and fellow racers looking to improve their racecraft, consistency, and overall performance.
At TCR, community is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that everyone benefits when knowledge is shared and people are willing to help each other. Whether it's solving a mechanical problem, finding speed on track, or learning something new, we're always ready to support one another.
We also believe that success in karting isn't defined by the equipment you own. Our team works with everything from brand-new chassis to karts that are more than 15 years old. No matter what you're racing, our focus remains the same: helping drivers get the most out of themselves and their equipment.

About Karting
Karting is one of the best ways for people of all ages to begin their motorsport journey. With drivers able to start racing from as young as seven years old, it provides an excellent environment for developing racecraft, confidence, and driving skills from an early age.
There are a wide variety of categories available, ranging from affordable four-stroke classes to high-performance 125cc two-stroke classes capable of reaching speeds of over 130 km/h. No matter your age, experience level, or budget, there's a class suited to you.
4SS – The Affordable Starting Point
If you're looking for a cost-effective way to get yourself or your child into karting, we highly recommend the 4SS category.
The 4SS class uses the Torini 210cc four-stroke engine, producing approximately 12 horsepower and reaching speeds of around 90 km/h. It is one of the most affordable categories in Australian karting, offering low running costs and minimal maintenance requirements.
When everything goes smoothly on a race weekend, the primary expenses are fuel and race entry fees, making 4SS a fantastic option for drivers wanting maximum track time without a large budget.
Two-Stroke Categories
For those looking for more speed and performance, the two-stroke classes are the next step.
KA100
The KA100 is a 100cc two-stroke engine producing around 23 horsepower. It is used in both Junior and Senior categories, making the transition from junior competition to senior racing straightforward and familiar.
125cc Classes
The 125cc categories are among the most popular classes in karting and are available in both Restricted and Open divisions.

Restricted 125cc classes are designed for newer drivers and produce approximately 23 horsepower.

Open 125cc classes are intended for more experienced competitors and produce around 30 horsepower.
The difference between the two is achieved through the use of a restrictor plate and exhaust configuration, allowing drivers to progress naturally as their experience grows.
X30 and Rotax
The two most common 125cc engine packages are the X30 and Rotax.
X30 engines are the most widely used due to their strong all-round performance and consistency. They deliver reliable power whether the engine is fresh or recently rebuilt, making them a popular choice across all levels of competition.
Rotax engines are known for their strong mid-range performance and excellent durability. While they can offer longer service life between rebuilds, they may show slightly more variation in performance compared to X30 engines.
Karting for Kids
Children can begin karting from the age of seven through the Cadet classes.
Young drivers can compete using either the Torini 210cc four-stroke engine (with a restrictor fitted) or the MiniROK 60cc engine.
The Cadet categories are divided into:

Cadet 9 – Drivers aged 7 to 9 years.

Cadet 12 – Drivers aged 9 to 12 years.

4SS Cadet – Drivers aged 7 to 12 years using the Torini four-stroke engine.
These classes provide a safe and structured environment for young drivers to learn racecraft, develop confidence, and build the foundations for future motorsport success.

Driver Coahing
Whether you're new to motorsport or feeling stuck in your development, TCR is here to help you improve. We offer driver coaching through data analysis, onboard video review, and trackside support at race events and test days. Our goal is to help drivers build confidence, improve racecraft, and get the most out of their performance on track.

Race Day Technical Support
If you're unsure what changes to make during a session, we offer support to guide you through it. Rather than simply making adjustments for you, we focus on teaching you how to make those changes yourself and understand how they affect the kart on track. This helps you learn faster, build confidence, and develop a better feel for setup and performance.
